A RENTED sound system and one tricoloured helicopter light marked the birth of Throb Nightclub some 21 years ago.
Co-owner Tim Palmer said it was a pleasure to see the club entertain generations of Territorians over the years.
“We wouldn’t want to have it any other way,” Mr Palmer said.
“We’re really proud of the NT community who have embraced what we stand for,” he added.
Mr Palmer alongside partner Mark Marcelis and Karen Dunham own the venue and will host a 21st birthday party tonight to celebrate.
“We will be bringing some incredible remixes and new versions of the sounds of Throb back when we were a little younger, we encourage all our Throbbers to say hello,” he said.
The drag queens and dancers have created a special birthday-themed show for the weekend’s celebrations.
Throb opens at 10pm.
