More than 100 people have been arrested in Alice Springs since Operation Ludlow started on November 14.
In a video uploaded to Facebook on Saturday morning, NT Police Superintendent Michael Budge provided an update into the operation.
Two supervisors and an additional 14 constables travelled to Alice Springs last month to assist the community in tackling rising crime and anti-social behaviour, as part of the operation.
Just one month after the operation began, further members from the Tactical Response Group and the Search and Rescue Section were called to assist following a spate of disturbing crimes.
Already 153 people have been arrested and more than 1200 standard drinks have been tipped out since Operation Ludlow began, Superintendent Budge said.
“We’ve got people in areas of Alice Springs driving around in buggies, we’ve got drone units in the air,” he said.
“We’ve got people driving around all day and all night so it’ll be a good time for the community.
“And [for] police officers who are working over the Christmas break, it’s quite a good time for them to be out and about having a look around with the resources that we have down here at the moment.”
Mr Budge made the update on Saturday as the Operation Ludlow helicopter was launched.
The additional aerial assistance would provide a better view of any offences occurring and assist in counteracting stolen motor vehicles, Mr Budge said.
Operation Ludlow will continue over the Christmas and school holiday period, ending in January next year.
Mr Budge encouraged the Alice Springs community to get out and enjoy the Christmas period.
