The Tiwi Bombers have continued their excellent run of post-Christmas form managing to pick off the North Darwin Magpies without much hassle in their trip to the Cazalys Arena.
The visitors were a step ahead through the majority of the contest despite old head Sam Darley being rested and magic man Anthony Munkara suspended.
The Bombers did the damage in the first quarter compounded with a few late majors resulting in a 13.10 (88) to 6.6 (42) victory, over a Palmerston side honouring the memory of legend John Stokes.
Kim Kantilla starred with five goals to his name in the encounter continuing his major rush, while the likes of Thaddeus Puautjimi and Edward Darcy troubled the scoreboard plenty themselves.
A steely opening 10 minutes by the Pies kept the Bombers goalless, however the cracks soon formed at the back allowing Kim Kantilla to major, his first of five in the contest.
The Bombers had the momentum from then on barring moments of fightback by the Magpies and physical altercations.
Karlson Kantilla and Michael Thompson were relentless in their pressure and interceptions snuffing the Pies of forward go ahead.
Jayden Davey and Tom Gillett had their moments of brilliance in attempts to remain in the contest bringing pace as the club honoured a club legend in John Stokes.
The big break resulted in a more rejuvenated North Darwin unit however like early on in the piece it was only a matter of time till its defensive wall burst letting the Bombers dictate the run of play.
Scott Bedford, Marlion Pickett and Nathaniel Cooper ran circles around the Magpies big men in the middle of the park, a lone Decon Summerville major the highlight of the Pies efforts in the third.
The Bombers compounded the hurt in the latter stage of the afternoon, Edward Darcy kicking a hattrick in the final nine minutes of the match.
The win skyrockets the Bombers into second place, while the Magpies are yet to record a victory since Round 3.

PREVIEW
Tiwi have brushed past all comers since returning from the break and are on form to get a finals double chance, but can Palmerston mount a late season challenge?
The NT News and KommunityTV will stream every moment of this clash from 2pm on Saturday.
The sides sit on opposite ends of the table, but the home side Magpies have plenty to play for in their final match at Cazalys Arena this season.
There have been some promising signs from Palmerston since the break, particularly in their starts against both Wanderers and St Mary’s.
The key is to convert those starts into four quarter efforts that also produce goals rather than let their foes overwhelm them, something this young side will only get better at with time.
However, Tiwi are in form now and flying towards finals with exciting players like Kim Kantilla and Nathaniel Cooper producing strong performances each week.
They’ve won all three of their games since the break, including a particularly tough challenge against Waratah, in which scores were tied late in the final-quarter.
The Bombers will be down a couple of noted goal scorers with Anthony Munkara and Malachi Walley missing through suspension, but that doesn’t mean they will be lacking in that department.
And with their big name players in Marlion Pickett and Matthew Parker continuing to find form with every passing game, they’ll once again be a chance for victory.
The full replay will be available at the end of the game.
The NT News and AFL Northern Territory have come together in a partnership to live stream both the men’s and women’s Premier League games for this TIO NTFL season.
