The Darwin and District Cricket one day competition has been run and won, and we’ve had a look back at the stats to pick out the best performers from the white ball game.
Nightcliff were the victors winning in impressive style against a formidable Waratah outfit in one of the best finals Top End cricket has ever seen.
It took a final ball runout to save the day for the yellow and black side against the Red Caps, on their campaign to take home the first piece of silverware in 2024.
For that reason the two finals sides are well-represented in our team of the season, with the Tigers’ openers Connor Carroll and Douwtije Hoogenboezem among the most prolific in the comp.
But its Waratah captain Jagadeswara Koduru who shined the brightest with the bat in the one day format making 574 runs from eight outings for an average of 143.5.
Playing-coach Udara Weerasinghe pulled in some insane figures on the bowling end running out in 64.2 overs with 15 wickets and an average of 13.72.
Darwin’s Jacob Dickman is the only member of the team of the season not to have featured in the finals weekend down to his brilliant average of 65.4 runs from five matches.
