One of the victims of the tragic double fatal car crash near Lake Bennett last week has been remembered by friends as a loving partner full of laughter.

Donovan Lambert, 35, died after he was involved in a head-on collision with another vehicle driven by a 25-year-old Territory woman 1km north of the Lake Bennett turn-off about 8pm on April 23.

It is understood Mr Lambert was working in the Territory, where he also has family.

His partner Tayla Thiele expressed her grief on Facebook following his death.

“It’s impossible to put into words the depth of this pain or the emptiness left behind,” she wrote.

“Dono was my safe place, my constant, my biggest supporter — a soul so full of love, laughter, and kindness.

“Every moment spent together is now a precious memory I will hold close forever.

“His warmth, strength, and the way he made even the smallest moments feel special will never be forgotten.”

Assistant commissioner Travis Wurst spoke to the media on Thursday following the crash.

“It is up to road users to do the right thing for themselves, for other road users and their families,” Mr Wurst said.

“Because we have two families now that do not have a loved one sitting at the dinner table with them tonight that should’ve been there.”
