UPDATE: THREE cases of Covid-19 have been recorded overnight, including a baby.
Chief Minister Michael Gunner announced all three positive cases were connected to the Katherine-Robinson River cluster.
The first case is a man in his 40s who is a close contact and is in the Centre for National Resilience. He tested negative twice last week and positive overnight.
He had received one dose of the vaccine
The second case is a woman in her 20s from the Aboriginal community Binjari.
She was taken to Katherine Hospital after presenting symptoms and tested positive. The woman has respiratory issues but has not been required to be taken to hospital.
She is unvaccinated and now in the Centre of National Resilience.
The third case is an infant of a person from Robinson River. The child was in the Centre for National Resilience and has been taken to Royal Darwin Hospital.
Mr Gunner also revealed the second case recorded on Monday was an employee of the Director of Public Prosecutions in Katherine.
EARLIER: CHIEF Minister Michael Gunner will provide an update on the Territory’s latest Covid-19 outbreak at 11.30am Tuesday.
On Monday there were 34 active cases of the coronavirus in the NT, only two of which were overseas arrivals.
The total number of cases associated with the Territory’s current cluster is 37.
The rest are connected to the Territory’s growing Delta outbreak, which has spread into the Indigenous community around Katherine and Robinson River.
Katherine remains in a lockdown, with two Indigenous communities in the town’s surrounds placed into a ‘hard lockdown’.
Restrictions in Robinson River have been eased to just a lockout because of high vaccination rates, strong testing numbers and good levels of compliance.
Masks are mandatory for residents of the Roper Gulf and Victoria-Daly local government areas.
