As racegoers and those in the action turn their eyes toward what will be a huge weekend of racing, the Darwin Turf Club opened up again for the Dabble Corporate Cup.
The relaxed midweek race meet provided the perfect opportunity for the business community and punters to break up the working week with a fun day of action on the track.
For visitors it was a chance to get a feel for the place ahead of Saturday’s Palmerston Sprint and the Darwin Cup on Monday.
Lisa Foldi celebrated her birthday among the action with friends coming down to celebrate her and hopefully some wins as well.
“It’s always a great day out to spend with friends, I love it and it’s my birthday,” she said.
“It’s a real plus plus.”
Among her friends was Brooke Woods who said it was “always a good day at the Darwin Turf Club with lovely weather and fortunately not too busy”.
Cup Ambassador Brooke McManus was among those lapping up the renewed Darwin heat showing off local fashion.
“I’ve loved the experience getting to meet lots of people in the racing industry and working with local designers, I’m really grateful for the opportunity,” she said.
“There’s a lot of planning that goes into this, we’ve been planning outfits since April, so several months now and it’s great to have seen all of it in action.
“I’m really looking forward to the Darwin Cup, I’ve been an attendee for many years and it’s always a big day and I’m really excited to show off the outfit we have for it.”
