Airnorth, Australia’s second-longest running airline, will launch its annual Santa Flight on Monday delivering gifts for children and families in the Territory’s Top End and Western Australia’s Kimberley.

In partnership with McDonald’s, Coles and MixFM, this year’s Airnorth Santa Run will visit children in Nhulunbuy and Groote Eylandt on December 2 before flying the festivities to Kununurra on December 5.

Since Maccas, Coles and Mix FM got on board the campaign, they have delivered gifts including fresh fruit, candy canes, toys, footballs and other surprises to local schools, highlighting the airline’s strong community spirit.

Airnorth chief executive Daniel Bowden said the Santa Flight highlighted the strong links between the airline, its partners and Top End and WA remote communities.

“For more than two decades, the Airnorth Santa flight has embodied our commitment

to the communities we serve,” Mr Bowden said.

“Partnering with McDonald’s, Coles, and Mix FM over the past five years has taken this initiative to new heights, and we are proud to see the smiles and joy it brings to children in these remote areas we operate to.”

Vicki-Leigh Lettice and Phillip Coleman, owners of a number of Top End McDonald’s restaurants including the soon-to-open Berrimah store, said the Santa Flight had become a cherished tradition.

“The Airnorth Santa flight has become a cherished tradition, and McDonald’s is honoured

to be part of it for the past five years,” the pair said.

“The excitement and happiness we see on the children’s faces is heartwarming and reminds us of the importance of giving back.”

Mix FM radio announcer Daniel Hilliard said personal connections were key aspects to a life in radio.

“The strength of working in radio is our connection to people’s lives. We’re excited to

work with Airnorth so that we can extend that reach and help make a difference to the

Christmas of many families who can’t tune in every day,” he said.
