North West Tasmanian community mourns 21yo Wynyard man Brady Hubbard
Tributes are flowing for a “kind, funny and caring” North West man who died in the prime of his life, with friends saying “his presence was a blessing in our lives”.

Tributes are flowing for a “kind, funny and caring” North West man who died in the prime of his life, with friends saying “his presence was a blessing in our lives”.
Wynyard man Brady Hubbard, 21, died on Wednesday at Royal Hobart Hospital after suffering serious head injuries on Saturday night near West Ulverstone Football Club.
He did not seek treatment until Monday morning and was rushed to the Royal in a critical condition.
Police are still uncertain as to how Mr Hubbard became injured and are still investigating.
Initial reports suggest he may have fallen from the rear of a vehicle.
It is undertsood Mr Hubbard was a Woolworths employee and was an up and coming Aussie rules player who had played for East Devonport, Somerset and West Ulverstone Football Clubs.
The 21-year-old’s death comes as scores of his friends have left touching tribute messages on social media, with Dillon Roberts saying Mr Hubbard was “the kindest, funniest and most caring person that you could ever know”.
“You would never find a mate as good as Brady, which is why this is such a great loss to us all,” Mr Roberts wrote.
“Brady will forever be remembered, by all of us that were blessed to know him – his presence was a blessing in our lives.”
Mr Hubbard was a student at Wynyard High School, with an alumni group on Facebook saying “so much sadness in our little town this week with the passing of young Brady Hubbard”.
Friend Deacon Stokes wrote: “Got some terrible news. Rest in peace you wicked legend you’re in a better place. I’ll miss playing against you and having a beer with ya (sic). Love you long time legend.”
Naomie Tuthill added: “So very sad. Such a lovely young man. Too young, forever young. My heart goes out to his family and friends. Life is so cruel.”
Nikki Boyd said Mr Hubbard was “one of the most polite young men in our community.”
Jarrod Boys said he was “one of the best Woolies lads”.
Carmen Randall wrote: “B dog (sic) you are such a beautiful kid. The laughs we all had what a pleasure it was. Everyone loves you mate xx.”
Kyle Jensen added: “Rest easy mate gonna (sic) miss seeing you around. Grateful to have known you, to have called you a mate and spend good times together. It was a privilege to play footy with you.”
A GoFundMe campaign to help the family cover funeral and medical costs has, at time of printing, reached $9,348 of its $10,000 target.
