The heartbroken family of Linford Feick were forced to remove a group of wannabe thieves from their Nightcliff store, days after Mr Feick’s alleged murder.

JoAnne Feick took to Facebook on Monday to share how four “locals” were escorted out of the store by staff on Sunday after attempting to steal items.

“This was the last thing we and our customers needed,” Ms Feick wrote.

“This HAS to stop.”

Frustrated Darwinites showed their support for Ms Feick and the Nightcliff Friendly Grocer, labelling the latest incident as “disgusting”.

“What is wrong with these people?” one commenter said.

“No respect, no feeling for a family in mourning – just thinking of themselves as usual.”

Ms Feick also took the opportunity to thank the community for their support since the tragic loss of owner Linford, 71, on April 23.

“There are so many people going in to bat for us and speaking out about the ugly truth of what the NT has become,” she said.

“Banding together as a united voice is what we all need to continue to do.”

The incident came one day before Linford Feick’s alleged killer Phillip Randel Maurice Parry made his first appearance in Darwin Local Court since his arrest seven hours after the alleged stabbing.

Family of Mr Parry wept in the court gallery as he appeared before a judge for the first time on Monday on a charge of murder – and called out “love you” as he was led out of the courtroom.

Mr Parry was charged with murder, and for a theft and trespass incident that allegedly occurred just two days before the fatal stabbing.

Darwin Local Court judge Steve Ledek said there was confusion over the 18-year-old’s files, with police initially recording the wrong date of birth and his incorrect first name.

He said because of the incorrect paperwork there may be an additional two aggravated robbery charges from April appearing on his file at a later date.

NT Police have been contacted for comment.
