Will the pitter patter of little feet be heard at Parliament House next year? Well, that’s the rumour according to National Party MPs, who believe ousted leader Barnaby Joyce and partner Vikki Campion might be expecting a second bundle of joy in 2019.
Rumours are rife that the couple’s eight-month-old son Sebastian is set to become a big brother this year, meaning 51-year-old Joyce will have two tiny tots to wrangle.
The former deputy PM seems to be taking a hands-on approach to parenting, posting a photo on twitter on Christmas Eve of giving his young son a bath.
Joyce wouldn’t comment on the baby news but The Sunday Telegraph understands Barnaby and Vikki (Barnikki anyone?) had previously told friends they were keen to add to their growing family.
The former Nationals leader, who currently sits on the backbench, has four daughters with his former wife Natalie. Sebastian was Campion’s first child.
With Nationals leader Michael McCormack on the nose, many believe Joyce is also gearing up for a leadership comeback in 2019.
