Let Them Be Kids: Campaign to raise age limit for teens on social media

The age limit that children can access social media should be raised to 16 as Australian kids face the worst humanitarian crisis of a generation.

Parents are losing the fight against multi-billion dollar tech platforms who continue to knowingly expose children to harmful content that is affecting their mental and physical health.

Suicide and self harm has skyrocketed children under 19 and eating disorders are up 200 per cent over the last 12 years.

Experts say that in that time there has been one fundamental change in children’s lives - the utter explosion of social media use.

We must protect our children.

News Corp’s Let Them Be Kids campaign, along with parents from across Australia and experts in mental health, child advocacy, and child protection, is calling on the federal government to raise the age limit to access social media to 16 to stop the scourge of social media and give our kids back three years of childhood.
