A TEENAGE boy accused of breaking and entering homes and cars at Mermaid Waters overnight has been taken to hospital after being bitten by a police dog.

Queensland Police were called to Sundowner Court about 1.50am this morning after residents noticed “people acting suspiciously in the street”.

Officers attended and cordoned off the area and it’s alleged they then found three teenage boys aged between 13 and 17, who were taken into custody.

Police said in a statement the 13-year-old boy “sustained a minor bite to his knee from a police dog” and was taken to hospital for treatment.

The teenagers have been charged with enter premises with intent to commit indictable offence.

Car stolen from Coast home goes up in flames

Friday: Police are on the hunt for the culprits who stole a car from a Gold Coast home before the vehicle was found on fire several hours later.

It comes after a suspicious fire destroyed a car at Broadbeach Waters on Saturday (pictured).

Queensland Police were called to Rain Tree Glen at Coombabah about 9.10pm last night.

They found a silver 2006 Mazda 3 reported stolen from outside a Ridgevista Ct, Reedy Creek unit about three hours earlier was on fire and significantly damaged.

Queensland Fire and Emergency Services firefighters attended Rain Tree Glen at 9.43pm, but left the scene in the hands of police soon after.

Police do not have any suspects and want to speak to anyone who may have spotted suspicious activity around Rain Tree Glen last night.

Police investigate ‘suspicious’ car fire

Sunday: Police are investigating a suspicious fire that destroyed a car on the Gold Coast on Saturday night.

Authorities were called to a property at Merrimac Blvd, Broadbeach Waters just before 2.30am where a car was engulfed in flames.

A Queensland Police Service spokeswoman confirmed the fire was being treated as suspicious.

Detectives are reviewing nearby footage and investigations are ongoing.
