FIREFIGHTERS, paramedics and police responded to the scene of a hotel fire in Surfers Paradise on Friday afternoon.

Emergency services were called to the fire at the Alpha Sovereign Hotel on Ferny Avenue at 3.03pm.

The fire was contained to a first floor unit.

All residents were accounted for and a woman in her 30s was taken to hospital in a stable condition after being treated for smoke inhalation.

It came after a massive blaze destroyed a Benowa home earlier on Friday.
