The TV host was fighting back tears as she spoke to the parents of domestic violence victim Hannah Clarke.

Today show host Allison Langdon has fought back tears while hearing how Hannah Clarke knew she would die at the hands of her husband.

Hannah Clarke and her three children Aaliyah, six, Laianah, four, and Trey, three, were viciously murdered by her abusive ex-husband Rowan Baxter, 42, on February 19, 2020.

The mother-of-three was on the morning school-run when Baxter doused the family in petrol, and set the vehicle alight.

After the cowardly attack, Baxter died alongside his three children.

Ms Clarke escaped the car and desperately tried to explain the situation to emergency services and save her children.

“My babies are in the car … why didn’t I just stay in the car with them?” she with her final breaths.

“I didn’t save my kids, I couldn’t save my kids.”

She died in hospital later that day with burns to 97 per cent of her body.

On Thursday, Channel 9 will air a bombshell interview between Allison Langdon and Hannah Clarke’s parents Sue and Lloyd,

Her mother told Langdon about the heartbreaking moment she heard her daughter thought she was going to die.

“She came to me the week before he killed them asking me if she should get a will,” she said.

“I said ‘why?’ and she said ’well, what happens Mum when he kills me? He’ll be in jail and I’ll be dead. What happens to the children?’ she said ’I want you and Dad to have them’.”

A visibly emotional Langdon replied: “No one should have to live like that”.

The heinous murder of Hannah and her children scarred the nation. It led to an outcry and outpouring of grief at the loss of the young mum’s beautiful soul, thrusting Australia’s domestic violence scourge onto the international stage.

Tributes were made, memorials were held, and politicians bowed their heads and acknowledged the horror of what had unfolded in their nation’s streets.

Now, two years on from the horror, a coronial inquest helped shine a light on how the dark day occurred.
