FOOTY is finally back — and while most TV and radio commentary teams have stayed pretty similar to last year, most have a few fresh faces.
The season kicks off with the first AFLW match played on Friday night and both Fox Footy and Channel 7 having specialised callers for the game.
Seasoned sports journalist Kelli Underwood, the first female to call an AFL match on television back in 2009, will lead the team on Fox Footy with Neroli Meadows, Adam Papalia and Tanya Armstrong.
LYON SHOWS HE IS NOT CRYING WOLF
VFL broadcasters Jason Bennett and Nigel Carmody will lead Channel 7s AFLW commentary team with a number of popular faces including Daisy Pearce and Paddy Dangerfield.
But the big guns will hit our screens and airwaves when the AFL season kicks off on March 23.
Embattled Garry Lyon will join SEN, after cutting ties with former employer Triple M, alongside good mate Danny Frawley and a host of other former stars.
Triple M introduces dual Brownlow medallist Chris Judd and former Swans and Dees coach Paul Roos to the fold.
Fremantle champion Matthew Pavlich also joins Fox Footy as a Perth-based commentator joining the station’s ever growing list of talent.
And we can’t forget legendary commentator Rex Hunt returning to the airwaves — hosting a post-match show on 3AW.
