$1.5 million won in division one prizes: Australia’s luckiest lotto postcodes revealed
More than $1.5 billion in lottery prizes has been won across Australia this year, with new data revealing the suburbs in each state that were the luckiest.
Victoria has again taken out the top spot for the most division one Lotto prizes in Australia, with the state claiming 142 wins worth $280.3 million.
According to data crunched by The Lott, 479 division one winning entries from all lottery games across Australia delivered more than $1.5 billion in division one prize money in 2025.
Victorians may have taken out the most division one wins but players in NSW enjoyed the most division one prize money, totalling $468.3 million, courtesy of some massive jackpot wins including two staggering $100 million prizes – an Oz Lotto win in February and a Powerball win in June 2025.
Victoria’s biggest division one prize during the year was a $30 million Powerball prize scored by a Point Cook couple in February.
Queensland players had the third most division one wins nationally, racking up the second biggest amount of division one prize money nationally with $353.5 million.
A 15-share Oz Lotto syndicate took home the state’s biggest lottery prize of 2025 with a $70 million jackpot.
South Australia welcomed 33 division one wins in the first 11 months of 2025. The Northern Adelaide region saw the most division one wins – 10 wins worth a total of $16.5 million.
The Northern Territory scored its biggest individual lottery win ever when an Alice Springs man pocketed a mammoth $25 million Powerball prize in October.
The new data also shows the suburbs in each state and territory that were home to the outlets that sold the most division one-winning entries.
The NSW postcode of 2000 for Sydney CBD sold five division one winning entries.
In Victoria, the postcodes of 3023 for Burnside/Deer Park/Cairnlea and 3199 for Frankston each sold three division one winning entries.
Six postcodes across Queensland each sold three division one winning entries – 4000 for Brisbane CBD, 4218 for Broadbeach/Mermaid Waters, 4670 for Bundaberg, 4350 for Toowoomba, 4300 for Springfield/Springfield Lakes and 4870 for Cairns/Earlville.

Matt Hart, spokesman for The Lott, said capital cities were not the only big winners this year, with regional and remote areas also basking in the good fortune.
“In the first 11 months of 2025, more than 470 Aussies across the country experienced the indescribable thrill of a division one lottery win,” he said.
“While lotteries are games of chance where wins can land anywhere at any time, we did see some pockets across the country welcome more prizes than others.
“Some players tell us they deliberately pick lottery outlets that have recently sold a major lottery prize in the hope of continuing the winning streak, while other players choose different outlets, believing lightning won’t strike twice.”
