Man arrested after alleged bashing in Malak, Darwin

A man who allegedly assaulted a woman out the front of a service station in broad daylight has been arrested, with detectives urging anyone with information to come forward.

About 5pm on Monday, police received reports a man was assaulting a woman near a service station on Holzerland St, Malak.

The woman sustained non-life threatening injuries.

Casuarina officers attended the scene and a 39-year-old man was later arrested at a separate residential location.

The alleged offender remains in custody and is expected to be charged.

It is understood the man and woman are known to each other.

Man airlifted to Darwin after alleged bashing

A man has been airlifted to Darwin after he was allegedly assaulted by a pair of men known to him.

About 12.30am on Tuesday, NT Police received reports a 32-year-old man had been found with serious injuries at a residence on Fourth St, Katherine.

Emergency services took the injured man to Katherine Hospital for treatment, however the victim was airlifted by CareFlight to Royal Darwin Hospital when it was determined his injuries required further attention.

Initial investigations indicate the man was allegedly assaulted by two men known to him near the Victoria Highway.

Members from the Katherine Criminal Investigation Branch have taken carriage of the incident, with police urging anyone with information to contact authorities on 131 444 and quote reference NTP2400098296.

Man airlifted to Darwin after Stuart Highway crash

NT Police continue to investigate a Top End vehicle crash which resulted in a man being flown to Darwin over the weekend.

About 2pm on Saturday, police received reports that a gold Mitsubishi SUV had collided with a truck about six kilometres north of the Hayes Creek rest stop on the Stuart Highway.

A man, understood to be a passenger of the SUV, suffered injuries was flown to Darwin for further treatment.

Multiple witnesses who stopped to help after the crash provided authorities their account, however anyone with information is urged contact police.
