TASSIE’s very own music icon Maddy Jane is set to make a long-awaited return with a national tour this month.

The Bruny Island singer-songwriter and guitarist will kick off her recently announced East-Coast tour in her home town of Hobart on September 30.

Jane will also visit Melbourne, Brisbane, Bryon Bay and Sydney across two weeks in October, playing songs from her debut album ‘Not All Bad Or Good’ and her latest ‘Island Time EP’ released in June this year.

The tour name, ‘Bloody Finally’, pays tribute to her first national tour in two years, which was delayed by the pandemic.

“We’ve been waiting for a bloody long time to do this national tour – I’m so ready to get out there,” Jane said.

“I released my debut album at the start of the pandemic in 2020 and never got the chance to properly tour that, until now.”

During the height of the pandemic Jane moved back to Bruny Island to be home with family and friends.

‘Island Time EP’ is a raw and poetic collection of songs that share her journey returning home over this period.

“Coming to Bruny has forced me to go back to what is truly me and to understand what’s truly important,” she said.

“I was able to do a small tour around Tasmania last year which was great – this upcoming gig will be my first show back in Hobart since then.

“Everyone needs to get out and see live music, the industry needs all the support it can get at the moment.”

The indie pop artist is one of Tasmania’s most-followed musicians.

Jane supported Red Hot Chili Peppers in Hobart prior to Covid in 2019, as well as Harry Styles on his Australian Tour in 2017.

“Playing for Harry Styles was absolutely nuts, it still freaks me out that we’re mates,” she said.

“It was his first headline tour as a solo act in Australia and New Zealand and I got to play in Melbourne, Sydney and Auckland.

“He was lovely and so supportive. It was crazy to work with that amount of crew and at that level of professionalism.”
