A TASMANIAN city has made it onto a list of 22 global destinations people keen to get back out and travel should visit in 2022.
Flight Centre listed Launceston, and its nearby wine region, lavender estate and other food attractions, at number 16 on the list which was headed by China’s spectacular Rainbow Mountains.
Other entries include the Enchanted Hinatuan River hidden in the Philippine jungle and Canada’s Rocky Mountains.
Flight Centre said Launceston was the pick of the bunch this year for travellers happy to stay a little closer to home.
“We can’t wait to get back to Launceston! Located in the north of Tasmania, it’s a destination full of natural beauty, incredible food and laid-back charm,” Flight Centre said.
“While you’re there, be sure to stop by the Tamar Valley and sample some of the signature wines.”
