A young Gold Coast woman has fronted court for the first time on seven serious drug charges, including trafficking and supplying cocaine, with police alleging she dealt several times to undercover officers while they were gathering evidence against her.
Mermaid Beach woman Kate Munson, 26, whose occupation is listed in court documents as dental practice manager, appeared in Southport Magistrates Court on December 4 for the first mention of her charges.
She is charged with three counts of supplying dangerous drugs and one count each of possessing a schedule 1 dangerous drug in excess of a schedule 3 amount, trafficking in dangerous drugs, possessing property suspected of being the proceeds of a drug offence, and possessing a thing used in the commission of crime.
Ms Munson’s defence lawyer Ashkan Tai requested an adjournment to request a brief of evidence from the prosecution.
Her charges will next be mentioned on January 15, 2026.
No details of the alleged offending were read onto the public record at this stage of proceedings, and Ms Munson has not entered any pleas.
According to court documents, police allege Ms Munson, who they say began trafficking cocaine on July 1, supplied cocaine three times to undercover officers in Burleigh Heads.
Police allege cocaine was supplied on September 12 at The Esplanade; and on October 10 and 11 at Ocean Pde.
Ms Munson’s residence was raided by detectives from the Major and Organised Crime Squad on October 16, according to the documents, with contraband allegedly found in her possession including cocaine in excess of 2g, a mobile phone, digital scales, and a quantity of suspect cash.
Despite the raid, police allege Ms Munson continued to traffic in the drug.
According to the documents, her alleged trafficking operation only concluded on November 1.
Detectives concluded their investigations a few days later and issued her a notice to appear on November 6.
