Hollywood star Chris Hemsworth delights fans while on a night out in Broadbeach

Chris Hemsworth's surprise night out on the Gold Coast has created a buzz after the Thor actor stopped to meet fans during filming.

Actor Chris Hemsworth made an unexpected appearance in Broadbeach on Thursday night, with fans spotting the Hollywood star enjoying a relaxed stroll.

The sighting drew plenty of attention as the actor stopped several times to chat and pose for photos.

Gold Coast local Lilly Mayes was among those who recognised him.

“I was walking through Broadbeach and one of my friends said ‘that’s Thor!’” she told The Courier-Mail.

Mayes approached Hemsworth for a photo, but he politely asked her to wait while he finished taking pictures with staff at Sage Restaurant, where he appeared to be enjoying a casual night out.

She told him, “I love your wife in Fast and Furious, I think she might be more famous than you.”

“Yeah, she probably is!” Hemsworth allegedly replied with a laugh.

Hemsworth is currently in Queensland filming the new submarine action thriller Subversion, which began shooting on the Gold Coast on September 15 and has brought a wave of industry activity to the region.
