It was an action-packed day in Palmerston after police raided an unsuspecting home and arrested at least two of its occupants – including one woman who was gracefully carried to a paddy wagon.
It was an action-packed day in Palmerston after police raided an unsuspecting home and arrested at least two of its occupants – including one woman who was gracefully carried to the paddy wagon.
About 8am on Friday, Hannibal Crescent in Gray was graced with the presence of a large cohort of cops.
Officers piled up against the front door and breached the residence, alerting neighbours to the action.
“I heard someone scream,” Hendry Strik said.
“But yeah, (the cops) were there with that big hunk of steel going full commando.”
At least two people were seen being taken away by police.
One woman was carried by a pair of police officers and placed into the back of a cop car.
A handcuffed man wearing a red t-shirt also emerged from the house and was taken to a separate vehicle.
For the next two hours, police took their time to comb the property.
Police took a dirt bike from the site and packed it into the back of a nearby ute, while a sniffer dog was also brought on to the property.
The dog was led to several vehicles, scoping out trunks and cabins, before continuing its investigation within the confines of the house.
Investigators approached the dog with opened rubbish bags, giving its nose the chance to filter its contents.
For about two hours, non-uniformed officers could also be seen coming-and-going from the property.
