A WELL-known Surfers Paradise entertainer has unexpectedly passed away, with family, friends and colleagues paying tribute to the Gold Coast’s own ‘piano man’.

Ken Hall, a fixture at Glitter Strip hospitality king Craig Duffy’s Tipsy Pig Surfers Paradise, died in the early hours of December 18 after a sudden heart attack.

His daughter Amy has since paid a heartfelt tribute to her “beloved” dad on social media and has set up a GoFundMe page for a funeral ceremony.

“It is with great sadness and a heavy heart that I write to say Ken Hall, my beloved father has tragically passed away,” Ms Hall wrote.

“We held on to hope but sadly the lack of oxygen during his cardiac arrest has significantly impacted his brain and he was unable to wake up for us.”

Ms Hall said Ken “always helped people through music and his presence” and “wanted the best for everyone he knew”.

“I will always be his little girl,” she said.

“All your love and support has been greatly appreciated and we continue to feel your love as we now grieve.”

Ms Hall, also a musician and singer, regularly played with her father at Tipsy Pig.

Ken was resident musician for several years at the now-closed Broadbeach nightlife haunt Howl at the Moon, which later relocated to the Surfers Paradise riverfront before shutting.

Mr Duffy, owner of Tipsy Pig, strip club Hollywood Showgirls and jungle-themed bar Coco Loco, said Ken was an “adored” fixture on the Surfers Paradise nightlife scene.

“He was an adored entertainer for many years all over the Coast and was Tipsy Pig’s headline act for the last few years of his career. He will be missed by many,” Mr Duffy said.

The GoFundMe page for Ken has raised over $5000 towards its $7500 goal.
