Fresh-faced high-school graduates got their first taste of tertiary education during Bond University’s O-Week.
The Robina university kicked off the new academic year with a range of activities including campus tours, social sessions, inter-faculty tug-of-war competitions, volleyball on the lawn, giant games of Connect Four to test strategic thinking, and a trip to Dreamworld.
Bond University’s Vice President of future students, Cheryl Jolliffe said they were delighted to welcome 2023 students back to full-time, face-to-face learning after pandemic disruptions.
She said they were also welcoming many international students from more than 35 different countries including India, Norway and France.
“International students have always been an essential part of the Bond University experience,” Ms Jolliffe said.
“They add vibrancy and diversity to the classroom and can open the eyes of Australian students to opportunities beyond our shores.”
She said international education was an important pillar in the Gold Coast’s economy.
“International students bring a variety of perspective, cultures and experiences to the university community, which enriches the university experience for all students.”
Bachelor of Biomedical Science, Bachelor of Psychological Science, Bachelor of Exercise and Sports Science, Bachelor of Laws and Bachelor of Actuarial Science were announced as the most popular programs at Bond University for 2023.
