Parking standards have taken a turn for the worse, with one driver called out for their “ignorant and lazy” attempt to stay in the lines.
A photo was taken on the Gold Coast of a car parked right down the middle of two bays, raising eyebrows from passers-by.
Tellingly, it was late in the day and few others cars were around, further highlighting the question of why the driver couldn’t have tried to park correctly.
“I get it was quiet but it’s just as much effort to park straight,” one witness said.
“They may have been in a hurry but this is just ignorant and lazy. Do better.”
Despite the poor parking effort, a poll of more than 1200 online readers voted that they had seen worse attempts.
“Poor, but more annoying are those that now reverse into parking spots holding up everyone else up. It’s a newish thing,” John wrote.
Stewart’s added: “I’ve seen worse than that, usually parked at an angle.”
However Andrew insisted it was all fair game.
“No one in the car park. Park where and how you like. Who cares,” he wrote.
The latest bizarre parking fail follows a recent driving issue on the Gold Coast in which a driver was snapped with a dog in his lap.
In Brisbane in October 2024 a business was called out over its dodgy parking attempt, sparking a hilarious response.
In another case, one woman stood in the parking spot to hold it for a driver, dividing opinion over the practice.
