Two men have alleged been caught in the act breaking into a Gold Coast business before they were taken down by police.
The pair were allegedly spotted by security about 3.54am last Friday breaking into a Southport supermarket to steal copper and batteries, a Queensland Police Service (QPS) spokesman said.
“Upon arrival, police sighted the pair leaving the scene on foot” the spokesman said.
“One of the alleged offenders was located nearby and taken into police custody.
“A police dog unit was deployed and located the second alleged offender in long grass at the edge of a nearby carpark.”
A 56-year-old Arundel man, and a 41-year-old Labrador man were charged with a string of offences including enter premises with intent to commit indictable offence and possess thing intended for use in connection with an offence.
