A 13-year-old Logan boy arrested after three luxury cars and Christmas presents were stolen from an Upper Coomera home on Christmas Day has been released on bail.

Police made the arrest via a dramatic tyre-spiking at Marsden in Logan at 3pm on Tuesday.

It comes after the dwelling’s family was left devastated when their Lone Pine Court residence was broken into and raided by a group of five in the early hours of Christmas.

Police have recovered some property stolen “following the execution of a number of search warrants in Logan” and recovered two of the three missing cars, a police statement said.

Police are still looking for a red Mercedes-Benz.

The Logan teen has been charged with unlawful use of a motor vehicle. He was granted bail and will reappear in Southport Childrens Court at a later date.

“Investigations remain ongoing to locate the outstanding vehicle and stolen property as well as other offenders involved,” a Queensland Police spokeswoman said.

Victim Leanne Kitchen labelled the theft from her home as “disgusting”.

“We woke up at 5am to find the back door busted open and the cars stolen,” she said.

“Our Christmas tree was raided and personal belongings taken from the bedroom.

“CCTV shows up to five people were in the house and then loading up their other vehicles with our stuff. It’s absolutely disgusting for something like this to happen while you’re at home sleeping.”
