Gold Coasters can soon immerse themselves in Himalayan wellness with the city’s newest bathhouse opening in Surfers Paradise.
From the mind behind popular Glitter Strip day spa LAN Spa, the soon-to-open LAN Bathhouse is what co-owner Abby Lin described the perfect blend of her holistic takes from both Nepal and Bali.
“Before I set up this bathhouse I went to Nepal and Bali to learn more about healing,” she said.
“It was a really special experience for me – so I wanted to gather these leanings and inspirations from the trip and to put them all together for people of the Gold Coast to enjoy.”
Cue LAN Bathhouse – Paradise Centre’s newest tenant with a steam room, sauna, six treatment rooms including a couples room and six pools ranging from magnesium pools to cold plunge.
It even has a bar.
“After five years in the beauty and wellness industry, I thought it’s time to upgrade LAN Spa and take it to the next level,” she said.
“I’ve always believed water is a symbol of wellness and healing. It heals our muscles, our bodies. Now we have water therapy and all the spa treatments together.”
Ms Lin said as a busy mum of two with a busy work schedule, she found it hard to find time for herself, wanting to create a space people could escape to and unwind.
“That’s why I put this concept together,” she said.
“The bathhouse and also the spa with all its very popular treatments and massage (including remedial) together to create a bit of everything in the one location. I wanted to create a one-stop-shop.”
The 400 sqm bathhouse caters for up to 30 guests at a time, and is what Ms Lin called a “long-term commitment” to the Gold Coast.
“A very special part of what we do is we have two private baths so we can accommodate people who want more privacy,” Ms Lin said.
“We can also do hens events, private birthday parties and of course our bar, for anyone who wants to relax in the baths with a drink.”
Ms Lin said LAN Bathhouse should open this month.
