A budget-friendly airline is introducing new flights from the Gold Coast to one of Australia’s most-visited destinations which boasts insta-famous beach bars and breathtaking scenery.

On Thursday, Jetstar Group CEO Stephanie Tully announced they were expanding their Gold Coast international services with flights to fellow tourism hotspot Bali from August 1.

“We are thrilled to provide our customers with a low-cost connection between the Gold Coast and Bali, making it more affordable and convenient for travellers to reach the Indonesian holiday island,” she said.

Ms Tully said in a statement the new connection would add more than 58,000 seats a year, sporting three flights a week.

“Bali has always been Jetstar’s most popular international destination and it’s not hard to see why with its beautiful beaches and resorts, delicious food, friendly locals, affordability and proximity to Australia.”

Bali has cemented itself as one of the most popular destinations, with more than 130,000 passengers travelling between the Gold Coast and the island over the past two years.

Queensland Airports Limited CEO Amelia Evans said the new flights were a “huge win” for the Gold Coast.

It comes at a busy time for the airline after recently launching their new route between Cairns and Christchurch.

Direct ervices from the Gold Coast to Dunedin and Hamilton to Darwin are also set to jet off in June.

“Jetstar is gearing up for our busiest ever Easter and Anzac Day public holiday period in Queensland, with more than 400,000 passengers flying across the state,” Jetstar’s COO Matt Franzi said.

“Jetstar has a significant footprint in Queensland, with more than half of our domestic network touching the Sunshine State and we’re continuing to grow.”

The Gold Coast to Bali flights will run on Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays from 6.15pm.

Jetstar will run a 72-hour Route Launch Sale with one-way flights available from noon on Thursday from $199.
