A Robina Town Centre venue has come up with a solution for punters to avoid parking fines after over 150 motorists were slapped with hefty fees two months ago. Find out more.

A Gold Coast venue is proposing a solution to the Cbus Stadium parking woes as thousands of football fans prepare to watch the Socceroos.

The Sporting Globe sports bar in Robina offers free community buses to and from the nearby stadium for Gold Coast Titans home games.

And now the venue’s management plans to deliver as many fans as possible to the AFC Asian Qualifying game between Australia’s Socceroos and Bahrain on Thursday.

Co-owner of the Sporting Globe venues on the Gold Coast, Mark Vigus said he believes the number of fans being taken to the stadium from their hotspot will continue to increase.

“We’ve been taking as many as 600 fans to each game this season, but increased that to 1000 for the sold out Titans and Broncos match recently.

“We could move up to 2000 people with our two buses running flat out.

“Fans can park at Robina Town Centre, which offers free parking for customers, and as long as they are visiting our venue before the game, we are happy to give them a lift,” he said.

The transport option comes after more than 150 motorists parked near the stadium for a Titans home game were slapped with parking fines by council two months ago.

Punters leaving the match at Cbus Super stadium returned to their cars to find not just their vehicle but entire rows were ticketed.

Bus drop-offs for the Socceroos are expected to start two hours before the 8pm game, with a collection service to pick up patrons after the game too.

“It only takes five minutes between Robina Town Centre and Robina Stadium, and we will have two buses running, so we should be able to move a decent amount of fans to and from the game,” Mr Vigus said.

Bookings via Sporting Globe’s website are encouraged but walk-ins are also welcome.
