Emergency services called to car crash: Motorists warned of delays on M1

Motorists were faced with significant delays on the M1 as emergency services rushed to another incident during peak-hour traffic.
Queensland Fire and Emergency Services were called to a car and motorbike crash on the M1 southbound at Molendinar at 8.04am on Monday.
Paramedics assessed a man in his 60s who had a leg injury and took him to Gold Coast University Hospital in a stable condition.
Traffic was backed up from Pimpama to Nerang at around 8.43am.
The crash came less than two hours after the Queensland Fire Department were called to a car fire on the M1 southbound at Currumbin.
A Gold Coast police spokeswoman said one lane was blocked and reopened at around 7.15am.
Paramedics were also called to a single-car crash on the M1 at Nerang at 6.06am.
In a statement they said they believed the crash was caused by a medical episode.
They assessed one man who was taken to Gold Coast University Hospital in a stable condition.
The M1 was cleared at around 6.45am after two lanes were closed as a result of the crash.
