A teenager has allegedly been dragged from his e-bike and repeatedly punched in the face during a brazen daylight robbery on the Gold Coast.

The 14-year-old victim was waiting at an intersection on Frank St, Labrador about 3.15pm on Saturday, June 14, when a Queensland Police Service (QPS) spokesman said a Ford Falcon sedan pulled up beside him.

“A man exited the passenger side of the vehicle, approached the teenager, and allegedly pulled at his satchel, dragging him from the e-bike before punching him several times in the face,” the QPS spokesman said.

“The man allegedly rode off on the stolen e-bike along Frank Street, with the vehicle also leaving the scene in the same direction.”

The victim attended the Southport Police Station to report the incident. Following investigations, a 19-year-old man from Holmview, near Logan, has been charged with one count of robbery (armed/in company/wounded/used personal violence). He is due to face Southport Magistrates Court on July 15.

Investigations into the incident are ongoing and police are appealing for anyone who may have witnessed the incident or who may have CCTV or dashcam footage to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
