No one went bigger than Colac man mountain Zac Zdybel in round two of the Geelong Football Netball League.

The GFNL team of the year ruckman powered his side to their first win of the year over Newtown & Chillwell, registering 30 hit-outs, 22 disposals, 13 contested possessions, 10 rebound 50s, nine marks — six of those contested — and 180 Premier Data ranking points.

He wasn’t the only Colac star to impress, with former Carlton and Geelong player Darcy Lang finishing in the top-10 ranked players for the round with 30 disposals, 14 contested possessions, eight marks and 142 points.

Newtown & Chillwell distributor Charlie Byrne (29 disposals, 86 per cent efficiency, eight rebound 50s and 140 points) was the top ranked player for the Eagles as Matty Lloyd booted three goals to go with 21 disposals and 118 points.

Nine players topped 120 ranking points in Geelong West’s win over Grovedale with recruit Jake Smith’s 30 disposals, 11 marks, seven clearances and two goals seeing him post a whopping 172 points.

Smith, who won Western Jets’ best-and-fairest in the Coates League last year, and ball-magnet Tanner Lovell both finished inside the top-four ranked players in round two.

The prolific Lovell finished with 37 disposals, nine clearances, seven inside 50s, 1.3 and 163 points.

Brady Ferguson (22 disposals, 11 marks, 149 points) was Grovedale’s top-ranked performer.

Bell Park ball-magnet Lachie Patten had a huge outing in his side’s thumping win over St Albans, amassing 38 disposals, 21 contested possessions, 13 clearances, six tackles and 164 points.

His Dragons teammates Hamish Lucas (28 disposals, 14 contested possessions, 2.2 and 152 points) and Jack Sarcevic (20 disposals, 10 marks, seven tackles, 3.2 and 136 points) also had a major impact.

Returning Joeys star James Gow has a round-high 21 contested possessions to go with 30 disposals, eight clearances and 156 points in their comfortable win over North Shore.

But Seagulls signings Nathan Arbon and Mahli King had 79 disposals between them, with Arbon racking up a round-high 44 disposals, 15 contested possessions, 10 marks and 147 points as King had 35 touches and 115 points himself.

Oscar Morrison was arguably the best player on the ground with 26 disposals, 11 marks, 3.4 and 147 points, and he would have likely challenged Zdybel for No.1 spot if he kicked straight.

Lara midfielder Aaron Stone produced one of the performances of the round with 24 disposals, 14 contested possessions, nine clearances, three goals and 147 points as his side fell just short of South Barwon.

South Barwon ruckman Ben Kellet had an astronomical 20 hit-outs to advantage to go with 15 disposals, six tackles and 123 points, while Conor Lineham-Cunningham laid a round-high 16 tackles and finished with 17 touches and 123 points.

Oliver Tate was the No.1 ranked player in Leopold’s loss to St Mary’s, racking up 34 disposals, eight marks, six inside 50s and 146 points as Damian McMahon (28 disposals, 15 marks, eight inside 50s, 117 points) and Michael Rudd (13 disposals, seven marks, three goals, 102 points) were both pivotal.
