Urgent call for teen gifts as Geelong Advertiser backs Kmart Wishing Tree Appeal
The Geelong Advertiser has joined the Kmart Wishing Tree Appeal to help struggling families at Christmas, with teen gifts most needed this year.
It’s the time for giving and this year the Geelong Advertiser is supporting the Kmart Wishing Tree Appeal.
Now in its 38th year, appeal has helped assist families and people in need in our communities at Christmas and beyond.
Over almost four decades the appeal has collected more than 14 million gifts for Australians and New Zealanders doing it tough by partnering with The Salvation Army.
The Kmart Wishing Tree Appeal supports children, adults, seniors and families who are unable to afford gifts at Christmas and at a time beyond Christmas.
Teen gifts and items that help families connect are the most needed this year.
With more than 760,000 children currently living in poverty nationwide, Geelong residents are being asked to help give hope to Australians who may be struggling with homelessness, illness or even family crisis.
“We’re proud to support the Kmart Wishing Tree Appeal in 2025,” editor Phillippa Butt said.
“This is the time of year to give if you can, and many families are facing hardship.
“If you’re able, please make a donation, as every gift helps.”
