Three people in hospital after traffic accident on the Great Ocean Road near Apollo Bay

Three people, including a primary school aged child, have been hospitalized after a horror crash on the Great Ocean Road, near Apollo Bay.

Three people, including a young boy, have been hospitalized after being involved in a traffic accident on the Great Ocean Road.

Emergency services were called to the scene between Wild Dog and Marriners Lookout roads just before 1.45pm on Tuesday.

An ambulance spokesperson said five people were assessed at the scene and are believed to all be in a stable condition.

Two people were taken to Otway Health in Apollo Bay while a primary school aged boy was driven to the Geelong Hospital by ambulance.

The young boy had suffered from upper body injuries.

An Apollo Bay police spokesperson said the three people had non-life threatening injuries.

They will remain in hospital for further medical attention and care.
