Teenager in serious condition after being hit by car in Whittington

A teenager remains in a serious condition after being hit by a car in Whittington on Wednesday night.

A teenager remains in a serious condition after he was hit by a car on Wednesday night.

A police spokesman said emergency services were called to Willsons Rd in Whittington about 6.50pm after reports a teenage boy had been hit by a car.

An Ambulance Victoria spokeswoman said the teenager was treated at the scene for upper body injuries.

“He was taken to … hospital in a critical condition,” she said.

A spokeswoman for the Royal Melbourne Hospital said the teenager’s condition remained serious on Thursday afternoon.

The police spokesman said officers were speaking to witnesses and the driver involved.

“The investigation is ongoing,” he said.
