Teenager, 17, hit with charges after allegedly evading police in Corio
A 17-year-old allegedly sped off from police to avoid a roadside breath test, weaving between traffic on his way home - but police were already there when he arrived.

A teenager allegedly evaded police in order to avoid a roadside breath test in Corio on Saturday evening.
Police spokeswoman senior constable Darcie Sword said highway patrol officers were conducting roadside breath test at a aside on Cox Rd at about 5.30pm, when the boy allegedly drove a Toyota van into the testing line.
The 17-year-old was told by an officer to park on the side of the road, but instead he allegedly accelerated through the site, narrowly missing officers conducting preliminary breath tests.
It is alleged he drove the vehicle more than 90km/h in a 60km/h zone, weaving between traffic on his way home.
Police were waiting at the address when he arrived, and the 17-year-old was arrested.
He has been charged with offences including conduct endangering life, conduct endangering persons, drive in a manner dangerous, unlicensed driving and exceeding the speed limit.
He was bailed to appear at a children’s court at a later date.
The roadside testing, and the arrest, form part of Victoria Police’s Operation Compass.
The 10-day operation, which will finish at midnight on Sunday, targeting drivers under the influence, as well as speeding and distracted drivers.
The Easter period is one of the most dangerous on the state’s roads and with consecutive long weekends this year, police have been out in force.
