Newtown restaurant crowned the best place in Geelong to buy a burger

A Pakington St store that has been serving burgers to people of Geelong for a decade has been chosen as the best in the business.

A hospitality business that prides itself on bringing fresh produce to the table has been chosen as the best place to get a burger in Geelong.

Burger Inc has been serving burgers to people for 10 years from its store in Newtown and received 52 of more than 220 votes in the Geelong Addy’s Best Of series.

Burger Inc owner Hilal Acar said she was not expecting the win.

“It is so exciting,” she said.

“What sets us apart is the fact we use fresh premium ingredients, prepared daily and our menu moves away from the classic greasy American burger,” she said.

Burger Inc was nominated for two of its burgers, the number two which is on the beef menu with bacon, avocado and cheddar, and a number 17 which is a mushroom burger.

Ms Acar said everybody’s tastes were catered for with the range of gluten free, vegetarian and vegan menu options available.

“The fried chicken club is our best selling burger, the number two is the best selling out of the beef but out of the vegetarian it's the grilled haloumi with caramelised onion and sun-dried tomatoes,” she said.

Ms Acar said being in the hospitality business her and her staff were doing what they love every day.

“It’s about producing good quality food for people to enjoy and I guess we have found a way to give people take away but in a clean and fresh way,” she said.

“Because we have been here for 10 years, for everyone who walks through the doors its personal.

“I’d say our customer service is second to none and they really do get good hospitality when they come here.”

Ms Acar said she wished to thank her customers and everyone who vote for Burger Inc.

3. Smashville, Newcomb – The Smashville and the deluxe cheeseburger

4. Burger Plus, Geelong – V2 vego and tiny burger

Equal 5th. Hot Chicken Project, Geelong – Alabama double cheese and bacon burger and OK Smash, Geelong – Classic cheeseburger and Aussie burger.

The next Geelong Advertiser’s Best Of competition will be plumbers.
