Multi-car smash closes part of Barwon Heads Rd in Connewarre
Drivers were lucky to walk away uninjured after a three vehicle crash on Barwon Heads Rd on Friday morning.

Crews at the scene of a multi-car crash in Connewarre said drivers were “very lucky” to walk away uninjured.
Emergency services were called to Barwon Heads Rd, near the Black Rock Rd intersection, about 8.50am on Friday.
It’s understood three vehicles were involved in the crash.
A CFA spokeswoman confirmed one person was assisted by crews to get out of their vehicle.
Photos from the scene show a ute had crashed into the back of a dark grey sedan.
The sedan also had damage to its front bumper while the ute’s bull bar had completely come off the vehicle.
A black car also involved in the smash ended up in a field on the side of the busy road.
No one was significantly injured and a CFA volunteer at the scene said those involved were “very lucky” to have walked away unscathed.
“If anyone was in the back seat (of the sedan), they’d be dead,” a police officer at the scene said.
Paramedics confirmed one person had been taken to Geelong hospital.
A witness said civilians were rediverting traffic before police arrived at the scene.
Drivers were being diverted from Barwon Heads Rd to Bluestone School Rd and have been urged to avoid the area.
