Midland Highway closed following Lethbridge truck crash
A man in his 60s has been rushed to hospital with serious injuries after a car and truck collided northwest of Geelong.
A man has been flown to hospital with serious injuries after his car collided with a truck on Thursday morning, near Lethbridge.
Emergency services were called to the scene on the Midland Highway following reports of a crash about 8.15am.
A male driver, believed to be in his 60s, was rushed to the Royal Melbourne Hospital in an emergency helicopter about 10.30am.
A Victoria Police spokesman said the male driver of the truck was not injured and an investigation is underway.
The highway remained closed formore than two hours after the crash.
Traffic control were allowing local residents through the road closure.
Motorists travelling in the area have been forced to divert on single lane roads.
Eight emergency vehicles were called to the scene.
Conditions on the section of road where the crash took place were extremely windy and wet, with rain blowing in sideways.
An SES spokesman said volunteers in the Barwon Southwest region had been called to four requests for assistance overnight, with three relating to trees down.
