Man stabbed, two arrested after alleged home invasion in Norlane

A man was stabbed after a horrifying alleged home invasion in Norlane on Wednesday.

Police allege a group of offenders tried to break into a property on Bellnore Drive just before 1am.

Officers were told the group allegedly smashed the windows of the home and were shouting at the occupants.

“A 50-year-old man went outside to confront the offenders and was assaulted and sustained a stab wound,” a police spokeswoman said.

“He was taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

“A 40-year-old man sustained minor injuries during the incident which were treated at the scene.”

Police allege the group of offenders fled on foot.

A 23-year-old Norlane woman was found nearby and arrested.

She has been charged with attempted home invasion and possessing a drug of dependence.

She will front the Geelong Magistrates Court on Friday.

A 52-year-old Whittington man was arrested on Thursday and has been charged attempted aggravated home invasion, criminal damage and possessing a controlled weapon.

He was bailed and will front the Geelong Magistrates Court on November 19.
