A Lara dentist stands accused of a raft of sexual assault allegations at work, it can be revealed.

Mohamed Hagras, 39, appeared in the Geelong Magistrates Court last week and is accused of nine sexual offences alleged to have occurred in the workplace.

His defence lawyer, Matthew Senia, told court his client vehemently denies all the allegations and intends to fight the charges.

Mr Senia said Mr Hagras, who appeared in court on Tuesday, was seeking a contested hearing, which is used to decide if there’s enough evidence for a case to go to trial in a higher court.

He told the court he intended to call and cross examine five witnesses at the hearing.

The accused dentist has made two “no comment” records of interview with police, and claims there are factual arguments over the allegations.

Two police officers took statements from the complainants, the court heard.

“We anticipate we will need two days for a contested hearing,” Mr Senia said.

Magistrate Simon Guthrie granted the adjournment and set the hearing for September 16 in Geelong.

A ground rules hearing will be heard on the same day.

Mr Hagras founded the Lara Family Dentist in 2021.
