Geelong’s jam-packed live music calendar is set to get even more crowded, as beloved Aussie rockers Crowded House announce an April show in the region.

The much-loved band on Friday revealed additional dates and locations for their Australian Dreamers Are Waiting Tour, including the April 23 show at Mt Duneed Estate.

The show won’t be short of firepower either, with Angus and Julia Stone and The Waifs signed on as big-name support acts.

The expanded tour comes after Crowded House unveiled a new line-up last year, with founding members Neil Finn and Nick Seymour welcoming producer and keyboardist Mitchell Froom, guitarist and singer Liam Finn and drummer Elroy Finn.

They released their seventh studio album Dreamers Are Waiting in June, which was awarded Best Adult Contemporary Album at the 2021 ARIA Awards, and nominated for Best Record at the upcoming Sailor Jerry Rolling Stone Awards.

The show announcement comes just days after the announcement of the month-long Surround Sounds Geelong and the Bellarine music festival from April 7 to May 8, featuring artists such as Paul Kelly, The Rubens, Kasey Chambers and Busby Marou, Human Nature, Lime Cordiale, Thelma Plum, Client Liaison and many more.

It also follows reports this week that global rock superstars the Foo Fighters were in talks to play a one-off show in Geelong in March as part of an initiative to promote Victoria as a world-class live music destination.

Tickets for the new Crowded House shows go on sale at 11am on Thursday, February 24 at Ticketmaster.
