Geelong bodybuilder and actor Calum von Moger has spoken publicly for the first time since the death of his younger brother Edward.

In a short video posted to his 3.3m Instagram followers, von Moger revealed he discovered his brother was missing the same day he flew to the US for the Arnold Classic, an international bodybuilder event, held in Ohio.

In the video, dedicated to Edward, he described that day as the “toughest moment in my life”.

“Every second of my day, my mind was elsewhere thinking about Eddie,” von Moger said.

“I know was physically there but mentally not present.”

Edward was reported missing from his Belmont home in early March and police later found his vehicle parked on Ellimatta Rd in Anglesea, a dirt stretch lined by bushland.

This sparked an extensive search operation involving emergency service officers scouring isolated cliffs and thick scrub to locate the 28-year-old.

Days later, a body was found on a beach nearby where his car was found.

At the time, a Victoria Police spokeswoman was unable to confirm if the remains were linked to the search for Edward but tributes were flowing online for the young man.

Edward’s fiance, Harisa Haveric, posted a photo a black and white photo to her social media with the caption “RIP beautiful boy. Until we meet again.”

In the video, von Moger apologised to his fans that approached him and he turned away during the Arnold Classic because he “was too emotional”.

The full video is expected to be posted to von Moger’s YouTube channel on Saturday.
