It comes as the family at the centre of the wild scenes on the suburban street claim a 21-year-old involved spent two days in an intensive care unit.

It will be alleged he assaulted a uniformed officer prior to his arrest and committed criminal damage.

Another Bell Park man, 28, and a 53-year-old woman are expected to be charged with assaulting and hinder police.

A Kilmore man, 18, was also arrested and released pending further inquiries.

All were known to each other.

It’s understood police attended the residence after receiving reports about a domestic dispute out the front of the property.

One man was found to have an outstanding warrant and was arrested, sparking an aggressive response from some group members.

Victoria Police will allege officers were forced to use pepper spray and draw tasers “after they were assaulted and spat on” outside the house.

It’s understood one man also smashed the mirror of a police van.

“A woman then allegedly assaulted an officer and OC spray was subsequently deployed” a

Victoria Police spokesman said.

Footage of the chaos shows three officers restraining one woman on a nature strip, as one man is held in handcuffs in front of shocked neighbours.

As the situation grew more hostile police tasers were drawn but were not used.

Another woman can be heard screaming “I can’t breathe” while a garden hose runs on the front lawn, possibly to relieve the symptoms caused by the pepper spray.

One teenager involved in the ugly dispute told this masthead her family was remorseful for their actions but will allege the police response “was extreme.”

It’s understood she has made a formal complaint to Victoria Police and the Independent Broad-based Anti-corruption Commission (IBAC).

One responding police officer was taken to Geelong hospital for a medical assessment.

Police are aware a complaint was likely to be submitted and will review body worn camera footage as part of the process.
