18yo teen hospitalised while freeing car in Lorne

The 18-year-old was trying to free his car from a culvert, when he suffered a leg injury that saw him taken by ambulance to hospital.

A teen’s attempt to free his trapped car from a culvert landed him in hospital on Sunday.

Emergency services were called to Sharps Rd, Lorne just before 4pm.

An Ambulance Victoria spokesman said that the 18-year-old man suffered a leg injury while trying to free his vehicle from a culvert.

Air Ambulance was paged just before 5pm on Sunday, however the man was taken by road ambulance to Geelong hospital.

The spokesman said the teenager was in a stable condition.

A Victoria Police spokeswoman confirmed the incident was not a crash.

Instead the young man was pushing his car and injured himself.

The spokeswoman said the teenager sustained non-life threatening injuries.
