TASMANIA Fire Service crews rushed to the scene of a significant house fire at Tecoma Road, Risdon Vale on Monday afternoon.
Crews on the scene confirmed a house and a car were fully engulfed in fire, with the home destroyed.
Tasmania Police crews closed the road, with a power pole directly outside the home.
A Tasmania Fire Service spokeswoman said the house was completely destroyed, with four units responding to the triple-0 call just after 3.30pm.
The home was reportedly not occupied at the time of the fire, with the resident having been located by authorities.
Crews responded from Hobart, Glenorchy, Risdon Vale and Clarence, with the fire threatening neighbouring properties.
Fire and police crews will continue to investigate the cause of the fire.
