UPDATED: The search for the resident of a Huon Highway house, which burnt down early this morning, has been successful.
At midday, police said they were found safe and well.
The resident had been reported unaccounted for after emergency services had extinguished a blaze that destroyed a home and car overnight.
INITIAL: Emergency services are searching for the resident of a Dover home that was destroyed by fire overnight.
The Tasmania Fire Service reported the resident of the house remained unaccounted for at 9.15am, Friday morning after the house on the Huon Highway was destroyed.
Crews from Dover and Geeveston responded to multiple triple zero call-outs to the incident around 12.30pm.
They were met with a house fully ablaze and a car in the driveway was also alight.
The Tasmania Fire Service said firefighting operations were delayed due to live power lines.
The incident closed a section of the Huon Highway for hours while firefighters extinguished the blaze.
A fire investigation is underway, with police forensics on the scene.
