THE owners of Tasmania’s newest accommodation experience say they are excited to learn their new “neighbour” could be Hollywood royalty.

Paul and Lynne Wilton’s Little Beach Co will officially open to guests in late December at the prime East Coast location of Chain Of Lagoons.

About a half-hour drive away, the exclusive 1312 acre oceanfront property of Piano Caves, off the Tasman Hwy, is rumoured to have been bought by Chris Hemsworth.

Ms Wilton said she had heard rumours several weeks ago that Hemsworth was going to buy the site, which contains eight land titles.

Piano Coves was marketed as an ultimate lifestyle opportunity or fantastic potential tourism site given the limited supply of similar land parcels across the Apple Isle and even the rest of Australia.

“Originally, the first generation of European settlers were sealers and fishermen ... and the second generation was farming,’’ she said.

“I really see that we are the third wave ... it is a really special, unique and pristine bit of coastline that he’s bought.

“I see us very much as the third generation that are going to restore the natural values of the property. I would anticipate he would be discerning and discreet.”

The Wiltons spent mant years ocean racing between Melbourne and Tasmania and in 2016, were caught in a bad storm after the Melbourne to Stanley yacht race.

“We couldn’t get back to the mainland, so we decided to make the most of it, hired a car and drove down the stunning Tasmanian east coast,’’ Ms Wilton said.

“We bought this stunning property at Chain Of Lagoons virutally on the spot with the intention of making it our holiday home.

“But once construction began, we realised that not only we didn’t want to live anywhere else, but also our patch of paradise was too good not to share.

“Our aim is to provide an amazing gourmet experience to help people create unforgettable holiday memories and enjoy everything that makes Little Beach so special.”

The couple’s home build is to be featured on TV series Grand Designs on Foxtel in March next year.

After the onset of the Covid-19 pandemic, they used the time to create a tourism and accommodation business.

Little Beach Co will offer a a combination of glamping and studio pods along with an architecturally designed bathhouse and communal kitchen, lounge and dining room.

The glamping portion of the business is being launched this week, and Ms Wilton said there had been strong interest in bookings over summer.
